Senior Section at Hamptworth

The Seniors play a very active, successful role in the Hamptworth set-up. Senior members range
in age and ability, from a high handicapped player in his mid-fifties to a low handicap player well
into his eighties and they cater for a wide variety of ways according to their fitness and interests.
 
A great number of Seniors meet twice a week, when they play a mixture of serious 'qualifiers' and less serious
competitions such as scrambles and Bowmakers
 
They play over 35 friendly matches each season against clubs from Hampshire, Dorset and Wiltshire and
during the Summer months also compete in the more competitive competitions for the Interbrew and Gale's
Hockley Trophies. Over the Winter season the senior section compete in the Windell League-usually with
great success.

The Section is managed by its on committee and is represented by the Seniors Captain on the General
Committee of the Club. Many of the seniors who are still at work, play a very active part in the club
competitions at weekends.
 
The seniors role at Hamptworth does not stop there, with a very busy social side to the club, there involvement
is always greatly received and are always willing to show their support.
